About the Michigan AEYC Administrator/Director Network Virtual Cohort

Dedicate just one and a half hours every two weeks to synchronous training sessions that will equip you with invaluable insights into key leadership topics. Our cohort goes above and beyond with an additional hour and half of asynchronous learning each unit, tailored to a theme that truly matters in your leadership journey.

During this nine-week commitment we will be covering topics that include work-life balance, employee personality types, difficult conversations, and other leadership topics.

Participants should attend with a willingness to learn, reflect, and share with peers across the state.

Outline of Cohort Training Experience

The cohort begins with a one-week orientation period designed to help participants become familiar with the course structure, expectations, technology, and community. During this week, participants will view a welcome video from cohort facilitator Amy Bond and complete introductory activities designed to lay the foundation for a successful learning experience.

Following orientation, participants will engage in four two-week learning units. Each unit includes a 90-minute live synchronous session where participants come together as a cohort to explore the topic, engage in discussion, reflect on their experiences, and address real-world leadership challenges. In addition to the live session, each unit includes up to 90 minutes of asynchronous learning, which may consist of videos, articles, TED Talks, reflection questions, application activities, or other resources designed to deepen understanding of the topic.

Participants are encouraged to complete the asynchronous learning in a way that works best for their schedule. Some may choose to spread the work across the two-week unit, while others may prefer to complete it all at once. This flexible structure is designed to support adult learners by providing meaningful content while allowing participants to balance professional and personal responsibilities.

Throughout the cohort, participants will also have access to individualized coaching and support as needed to help them apply the concepts within their unique leadership settings.
